A Dangerous Journey To Freedom, Meet Franklin

Sometimes, fate intervenes in the most miraculous ways. For Franklin, a sweet and gentle soul, his journey to freedom began on a terrifying, winding country road.

He was found alone on a hazardous bend, just a few hundred meters from the one place that could promise him safety: Liberation Sanctuary. Our team quickly sprang into action, bravely stopping traffic to guide this confused and frightened boy through our gates and out of harm’s way.

But his safety was immediately challenged. His former owners arrived, explaining he was scheduled for market in just a few days. Despite being loved by their children, Franklin’s time was running out.

It was a pivotal moment. Our volunteer appealed to the owners’ compassion, offering a different future: one where Franklin would be safe, loved, and alive for the rest of his natural life. In an act of mercy, they agreed to release him into our care. We named him Franklin, which means “freedom.”

Today, Franklin is no longer considered a number or a product destined for a tragic end. He is a beloved member of our family, spending his days grazing in the lush hills, surrounded by a herd of friends who have also found their second chance. He is finally, truly, safe.
