Silkie Roosters

32 roosters saved from slaughter

These roosters, were a part of a group of 1000 silkies (600 roosters) bred for their black flesh and bones, who were being kept cramped in small cages, in a hot, filthy shed awaiting slaughter before they were rescued as part of the Edgar’s Mission ‘operation mini’ in January 2023.

They are now free to enjoy being roosters, having dust baths and basking in the sun, for the rest of their days.
