Nigel

Nigel is living his best life in his cockatoo mansion which he shares with fellow cockatoo Conan

Nigel enjoys pats, dancing to Jailhouse Rock and maneuvering around the aviary with great agility, climbing and swinging about as he cannot fly.

Both Nigel and Conan have beak and feather disease, a highly contagious virus which kills feather and beak cells resulting in loss of feathers and beak abnormalities.  There is currently no effective treatment for the disease and prevention is the best method of control.

Nigel receives regular beak trims and is fed in shallow dishes.  In the wild, birds affected by this disease often die from starvation because they are unable feed properly.
